You've got mail!

Mail arrived the other day.
It really is an event, since here in Maz it doesn't happen often.
Turns out it's time to go to the bank and explain that we do live here now.

So Hub immediately starts digging
around for the paperwork.
'Linda! Where is all the stuff???'

Grabbing all the necessary paperwork,
I hand it to him.

'But did you get the statements?
The utility bills?
The passports?
Our gov't cards???'

"OMG YES!"

At 10.30am we arrive and are met by the bank 'greeter', who has noooo idea what we are there for...
but we are given a ticket and shown where to wait.

Hubs leans over and whispers in my ear...
'So did you bring a book?'

"Nooo. You have your phone...find something to do!"

20 minutes later we're rushed into a cubicle and begin the process.

Hub goes on his phone, trying to get his translator to work.

I present all the documents and Ms Bank employee starts to process me first.

Hub is humming, still trying to work his phone.

After 15 minutes I'm done!

Hub quietly leans over and whispers to me...
'Hey! Since we're here, seems like a good time to go to the ATM, don't you think?'

Grabbing my purse and leaving Hub and all the documents, I proceed to the machines.

After only a few minutes I'm heading back to the cubicle. Seeing Hub I ask...
"Just WHAT are you doing??"

Hub is now surrounded by three very young, hot female bank employees, laughing and chatting away.

"So I leave you alone for like 5 minutes!!!"

'What can I say...they think I'm charming!'

Mosquitos

Enjoying our early morning coffee and tea in the front courtyard, around our little white table. Warming temps, early morning sunrises and the sounds of a wide variety of birds singing in the new day.
And then I hear it....

Actually it's just a mosquito, normal size but to Hub it looks and sounds like this...

In yesteryears I would have jumped...but Hubs reaction is becoming all tooo familiar these days.

Calmly I reach over and put the electric bug zapper on the table.

As I rise to leave Hub touches my arm gently and advises me...'Thanks, but I know how to get the little bugger.'

"If you're sure?" not wanting to doubt his skill.

'Yeah...really. Not necessary. Got it all under control.'

Just then the phone rings and I do head inside to answer it.

While on the phone I look back and see Hub, taking controlling the situation.

First I see him talking...to the insect.
Yup, letting the bug know that he is in total control...and then...

I watch him carefully grab his hat, his tool of destruction and then admire his upper body coordination...as I hear...

Whack....WhAcK!...
WHacK...WHAcK...
WHACK! WHACK! WHACK!

Post arrival home

So I've been home for a couple of weeks now and even tho it's the hot and rainy season I'm loving it...

Hub...not so much.

You see, it started about the second day after I arrived home...

I went looking for Hub and found him ..."So, the patio doors are sticking. Maybe you could fix them?"

The 4th day...

While out and about I give Hub a quick call..."Hey, it's me. The car warning lights on the dashboard came on and won't go off. Can you make some time and have them checked?"

'No entiendo senora.'

"You do so understand! I know it's you!!!"

The 5th day...

In my gentle tone and demure manner I came out of the kitchen and let Hub know how I was feeling...

"You need to fix the A/C nowwww!!!!"

On the 7th day I found Hub in the living room on the computer. So I leaned over his shoulder and casually asked...

"So whacha looking at?"

Hubs eyes never left the screen...

'Just checking a few things.'

"Like what?" I asked with concern in my voice.

'Flights to Canada.'

"But I just got back!"

'I know and everything's been falling apart around here, ever since you landed.

Coincidence? I think not!'
